Today started with a fantastic breakfast at the neighbouring hotel called the Commodore. The weather has finally changed for the better it is 23° today with clear skies. It’s a perfect day to take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain. First is to get a ticket on the hop on hop off bus again to get to Table Mountain. It was much more pleasant riding the bus today with the weather being warmer. The city again is very spectacular with the sky rise buildings and the sea in the background. Once at Table Mountain, we boarded the 360° cable car and road up to the top observing views all the way around. There are trails to hike up to the top, but we declined and decided to ride lol. There are also options to walk back down, but again declined. The trails were very rocky, steep and looked very sketchy, and it was very long way up. Our young companion travellers, Emma and Attila, did hike back down, but we have not talked to them since to see how their trip was. Once we arrived at the summit, we found trails that took us around the entire top of Table Mountain so we could observe views in all directions. At one point along the way we had a view of the entire Cape Point. It was amazing to see. As we walked along the west edge we watched a skydiver jump. That was really cool to see as well. On our way back to the station, we saw a furry little guy called a Rock Hyrax. Before we boarded the cable car for our descent down, we stop for a cold beer at the Summit. A little shopping at the bottom got me a new beer cosy and a water bottle cosy and of course Brenda has a few trinkets of her own. After we reach the bottom, we boarded the hop on hop off bus again for a return trip to the hotel. Today we watched people on the beach and others surfing. The sand in South Africa is pure white like powder and absolutely beautiful. Once back to the hotel, we went up to Brenda and Garnet’s room for a Lion lager. Had to try out my new cozy. Lol At 6:30, we joined the others from our group for supper at the Commodore Hotel. I had to try the South African dish called Beef Bobotie with rice. It was delicious when we paired it with a fine bottle of South African Savignon Blanc. After lots of conversation, I am back in my room, packing up and getting ready for a flight to Johannesburg tomorrow morning. It’s been another amazing day!
